How to repair a crack in a Concrete Pool Deck.

What you will need:

* Putty Knife (or trowel) & Caulking Gun

If the concrete is flaking, remove loose pieces with a putty knife. You may have to chisel out some of the damaged area before applying new material according to your decking product needs.  Clean all debris and dust with a broom.

Use the putty knife to apply an ample amount of concrete patching material directly into each crack, and check periodically to see if it has settled as needed.  Allow your patched area(s) to cure for 24 hours before you continue with any other steps in this process.

Apply two coats of Pool Deck Resurfacing Sealant to the filled area for long-lasting results. You can find this and other sealants at your local hardware store. Follow the instructions on the product packaging for the best application.

How to fix Spalling on a Concrete Pool Deck

If you have a concrete pool deck, and it is starting to show signs of spalling, don’t worry! Augusta Concrete Solutions can help. Spalling is the flaking or chipping away of the surface layer of concrete, and it is often caused by exposure to weathering elements like sun, rain, or snow.

Augusta Concrete Solutions offers pool deck repair services to restore the surface of your concrete. The process involves chiseling away loose, spalled areas and applying a two-part epoxy system that will seal any small cracks or voids in the underlying concrete.

The first step is removing debris from spallations using either water or a vacuum. Be sure to get rid of all the dust and chips before you begin repairs.

Then, apply filler directly into cracks using a caulking gun. Make sure to check periodically to see if the filler has settled in and is staying put. If it’s not holding, you may need to reapply. Allow the filler 24 hours to cure.

Next, it is time for step two: seal the filled area with a concrete penetrating epoxy system that will create an impenetrable barrier between the surface and weathering elements like water or chemicals. The finished product should feel smooth and hard to the touch. It may take several days before you can walk on your repaired deck, so be patient!

How to fix discoloration on Concrete Pool Deck:

Discoloration on concrete pool decks can be caused by a variety of things, from weathering to staining. In some cases, it might be possible to restore the deck surface by cleaning and sealing it. However, if the discoloration is severe or if the deck surface is damaged in other ways, you might need to resurface it.

Here are the steps you need to take to restore your discolored concrete pool deck:

Clean the Deck Surface – Use a broom and dustpan to clean all of the debris, including any loose pieces of concrete, from the surface of the deck. Be sure to remove all of the dust and chips before proceeding.

Apply Filler – Use a putty knife to apply filler directly into the cracks in the concrete. Check periodically to see if the filler has settled and, if necessary, add more filler until the crack is filled. Allow the filler to cure for 24 hours before proceeding.

Seal the Deck Surface – Once the filler has cured, use a sealant to protect the deck from weathering and staining. Be sure to follow the instructions on the sealant for proper application.
